Aeries:

Aeries is updated daily, so please check frequently to keep up on student grades. Aeries also shows past, present, and future assignments.

 

Grading:

 

Standard A-F Scale: A = 90-100% - B=80-89% - C=70-79%, etc …

 

Weighted Grading:

Assessments = 50% - Classwork/Homework = 25% - Performance Tasks = 25%

 

Common Core Standards through Literature:

We will be mastering Common Core Standards through literature – approximately one novel per triad.

 

Supply List:

Nothing special is required for 7th grade English. We can piggy-back onto the supply lists for other 7th grade classes.

On page 109, after having received the memory of a sunburn, Jonas tells the Giver that, “now I understand better, what it meant, that there would be pain.” The Giver didn’t respond,, sat silently for a moment and then told Jonas to go home. In a well-written paragraph, please explain how and why the Giver’s silent response to Jonas’ comment foreshadows what awaits Jonas in the near future. Be specific as to the type of experiences this foreshadowing may be telling readers.
